How a tarot horoscope differs from an astrology horoscope

A traditional horoscope is calculated from the positions of the planets. This one is not. Instead, a single tarot card is drawn for each of the twelve signs at midnight UTC and stays fixed for the next 24 hours, so everyone sharing your sign is reading the same card at the same time. There is no birth chart involved and nothing to fill in.

What the star sign actually provides is a lens. The same card means something slightly different when it is speaking to the patience of a Taurus than when it is speaking to the impatience of an Aries, and the interpretation is written with that difference in mind. It is tarot organised by sign rather than astrology in any technical sense.

It is drawn once per sign at midnight UTC and locked for the following 24 hours. The draw is the same for every visitor with that sign, which is the point of a horoscope: a shared card rather than a personal one. Nobody can reshuffle it, including us.

I do not know my star sign. How do I find it?

Match your birthday to the date range shown on each sign above. If you were born close to the boundary between two signs, sometimes called being on the cusp, check both pages and see which reads more accurately for you. Only your birth date matters, not your birth time.

Can I read the horoscope for a sign that is not mine?

Of course, and plenty of people read their partner's or their friend's out of interest. All twelve are open. Just bear in mind the interpretation is written to speak to that sign's temperament, so it will feel slightly off if you are reading it for yourself.

Is a tarot horoscope meant to predict the future?

Not really, and it works better if you do not treat it that way. A single card shared by a twelfth of the world is far more useful as a theme to keep in mind than as a forecast of events. The value is in noticing where it turns out to be relevant, which is often somewhere you did not expect.

Why midnight UTC rather than my local midnight?

Because a horoscope only makes sense if everyone with the sign shares the same card simultaneously. Using local midnight would mean someone in Tokyo and someone in Los Angeles were reading different cards for the same date. The daily reading, which is personal to you, does reset at your own local midnight.

Do you need my birth details to use this?
